Leaving a gift in your will
It is only right that you want to remember your loved ones in your will, but you may also wish to consider leaving a bequest to charity. Those who remember Lingen Davies Cancer Fund in their will, no matter how small the gift, will make a difference to cancer patients in Shropshire and Mid Wales.
How do I leave a legacy?
We advise that you seek advice from a solicitor before writing or amending your will. You will need the full details of the charity to ensure that your wishes are carried out accurately. These are provided below:
Charity Name: Lingen Davies Cancer Fund
Registered Charity Number: 1160922
Royal Shrewsbury Hospital,
Mytton Oak Road
We have an excellent financial record, our accounts are audited each year and submitted to the Charity Commission. We take the responsibility which you place in us very seriously to ensure every penny of your gift will be used wisely and in accordance with your wishes wherever possible.
Please view our Legacy Promises to see what we promise in return.
Types of Gift you can Make
There are 2 different ways in which a gift can be made; a Pecuniary gift and a Residuary gift.
A Pecuniary gift is a set amount of money.
A Residuary gift is a percentage of your estate. This means that, however much your estate is worth, you ensure your loved ones are looked after. It also means you don't have to keep altering your will as your circumstances change.
You should consult a solicitor for advice about what is best for you.
What if I already have a will and want to include a gift to Lingen Davies Cancer Fund?
You can make an amendment to an existing will by adding a codicil. Please seek advice from a solicitor to ensure that the wording is correct. By adding this supplement to your will you can include new instructions and delete old ones without having to revoke the whole will.
